Lead UI/UX Designer, Blintn, Seoul, South Korea |
This summer was unforgettable. Through three key projects with a cross-functional global team of designer, developers, project lead, and product manager, I accomplished multiple commercial UI/UX projects for the Korean and global entertainment industry. My favorite memory was taking lunch breaks outdoors in the warm summer heat, coffee breaks with coworkers, and learning so much about the behind the scenes marketing and B2B scene in the film/tv industry.
Project 1.
UI/UX design for new NDA Protected Platform from Scratch
-
I was given a task to start building a new platform from scratch.
Ideation included consulting with the project manager, design, CEO, and product manager to clearly define the product first.
Due to NDA, I can share more broad details in an interview. -
Because this platform was B2B, the needs of the user were quite different from your typical B2C platform.
User research included benchmarking competitor sites, in particular sites such as VC partnership and more complex sites such as discord and more. -
Wireframe iteration started rough on paper and whiteboard, and ended in iterations on Figma.
-
This platform is intended to serve high profile clients and thousands of business partnerships.
Before I left, I carefully packed the final UI/UX flow for dev team to take over.
Project 2.
UI/UX Redesign of B2B Platform
-
The company already had an existing B2B website that was a database of 2M+ IP for businesses and producers to connect over content ownership.
The problem? The design was too lacking, inconsistent, with no established tone or thoughtful spacing. My job was to revamp the website, make the flow easier for users, and to give it an aesthetic premium edge. -
User research included benchmarking existing similar database sites, presenting my research to a team of designer, PM, and CEO, and running UX audits to identify key pain points in the existing design.
-
Lofi wireframes started on paper to establish key pages and flow.
Midfis evolved to Figma wireframes.
Hifi design was packed complete with illustrations from the company artist I worked with. -
Finally, the site design was given to the dev team. I led several calls with the dev team to ensure everything in the design layout made sense, and that they were good to go!
Project 3.
UI/UX and Web Dev for Investor Acquisition Site
-
This webpage was specifically to present to investors at a conference for a new sub-company of the main company. The goal? Drive investment partnerships through sign ups.
-
Research started by researching similar VC sites and presenting in meeting to the rest of the product and marketing team to establish a brand tone and key message alignment.
-
I sketched initial lofi designs by hand, developed further wireframes on Figma, and after multiple iterations of feedback—a hi-fi was ready for development.
-
I developed the site on Framer, and handed off to the dev team to handle domain publication, meta tags, and setting up site data collection.
The site was presented at a media B2B conference where investors learned about the new company initiative and had the option to sign up to stay in touch for negotiating potential partnership.
